It is a thin silicone mat with a small lip. It’s the perfect size to sit across the front of many espresso machines. It’s thick enough to protect the counter while tamping, and washes easily. It’s big enough that a lot of grounds and mess can end up on the mat instead of your counter, and you can simply pick up the mat and dump it.
Some people might like a thicker mat like the cafelat, but this will do the job and is a good shape and size for where I use one of my machines. It’s thin enough that many drip trays could be pulled out without moving the mat. It’s an excellent mat for the price.
Would always keep at towel in front to for tamping and catching spills. It got annoying fast. This mat it perfect size for our set up. There is enough thickness to protect my counter from banging and lip on mat catches any minor spills. Just run it under some water, wipe dry
I ordered another one like this that was supposed to be superior because of the thickness of the silicone but I quickly sent it back because it was too short. This one fits perfectly at the front of my Breville Barista Express to use for tamping and collecting all the rogue coffee grounds that usually fall all over the countertop. I love it!
This mat fits perfectly under my Eureka Mignon grinder & catches any excess grounds. There is enough space in front to also store my Acaia Lunar scale. It’s easy to clean, and keeps my countertops from getting messy, whether there are mounds of grounds, or my scale is wet. Couldn’t be happier!
It fits right in front of my Expresso machine. Just what I needed.
