I don't tamp on this but use it as a resting place at my work station...it is well made, not super thick but not flimsy at all, with a nice tiny edge to keep grounds inside. All of these silicone mats hang on to powder, regarding cleaning, but this one is not a super magnet for debris like some. Why spend more when you can use that extra money for a super expensive grinder (sigh). Peace out. : )

This tamper mat works great. Nice and thick and definitely don’t have to worry about scuffing the countertops.

Great silicone mat, I use it in front of my espresso grinder and use it for tamping and to place other items I dont want to place on my granite counter.
I've owned a bunch of different tamper mats, so far this is me best.
